Welcome to Sutton St James Parish Council

You will find our village in South Lincolnshire on the East Coast of England.
Our location is about 102 miles north of London and 3 miles south of the Al7 which runs between Holbeach and Kings Lynn.

The name Sutton St James is from the Old English Suth+tur or 'Southern Village'.

The area is of marshy fenland which is drained by the South Holland Main Drain and many smaller canals which artificially maintain the water level so that the fertile land can be farmed.

We lie in the heart of the agricultural and horticulture industries within South Holland and close to Spalding which is known for its flowers.

So, whether you are interested in fishing, walking, cycling, bird watching. Camping or you would like a day out in the countryside then please pay us a visit.

During your stay you will find that we are not too far away from places of historic interest or you may like to visit the many garden centres within the area.

If you find yourself driving between the larger towns, why not leave the main road and enter the rural countryside - you'll be surprised at what you can find!
